- It’s ON -
If I know something about biking, it will be the fact that it’s not because you think you can do it, that you actually can.
You need to be ready. And that was the point of my post for Rapha about ride 100km. But it’s like anything in your life, luck don’t stay so long around. Luck will not help you a lot.
Do you really think you can do it? Be objective, look at you on the miroir.
Sport is the ability of your mind to push itself. But it’s not all. I have to look around and realize what our society want. We want things happend fast. We want be fit for summer, lost weight, be ready for a marathon in fews months or olympique game, whatever. But you can’t decide it. You have to work hard, fews years, 10 years? More? Before be actually ready, not just think you are ready.
Well, it can happen. Pharmacy is there for that. And then? What the next step? If the mind is not ready, at some time it’s your body which going to break.
I know it’s terrible to heard for us, poor human being, impatience is our natural.
It’s name meditation. Don’t take the challenge because your think you have to do it, or to mask problems in your life. Do it because it’s who you are. And get ready, and take your time.
I have fews times rush in my life. You can’t really see it, but it was a bad thing. Painfull. And when it happen, you look for excuses, instead look at you and say yourself, it wasn’t my time, I wasn’t ready, I did sucks and it was my fault.
My body can’t rush, my body is a million of little pieces which moves together, slowly. When I rush it, he tell me ”fuck you”! My body knows me better than I know him!
Take the best of your mind and your body is not going to happend tomorrow. I know it will be because I did have push myself through the difficulty each day, even it hurt, even my mind is tired, that somes days, when I will be in front of the mountain, I could climb it until the top without look back. But now, I’m all made of weakness. It’s so much that I can’t face without fear. The fear to be judge, the fear to be beat.
Don’t line up if you are not ready. Forget the idea that it’s a dose of magic in sport. The only one I know it’ drugs and those guys are junkies, never heard about happy ending for them.
Look for what you need. Not what you think you need, it’s not a Garmin, it’s not a nicer bike, it’s a stronger mind and a stronger body. It’s free and you can build it everyday.
How many time do I’m going to fail at this game? I will line up again a lot in my life on a start line and I will not be ready. I name it learn. Let’s think about what you want, instead what you want do, it’s a good start.
